Hi, I’m Juan Carlos
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida, and I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and that nagging feeling that something needs to change — even when you can’t quite name it yet.
My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based practices. Translation: we’ll build practical skills you can actually use in your daily life — not just talk about your childhood for an hour (unless that’s helpful too).
Outside the therapy room, I’m a published author, content creator at @_psychlife_, and the developer behind MindfulPractice — a wellness app rooted in the same clinical tools I use with my clients.

I am a private-pay practice. I do not accept insurance directly, but I can provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Common Questions
I’ve never done therapy before. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Many of my clients are starting therapy for the first time. I’ll walk you through everything — there’s no wrong way to show up.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
Being private-pay allows me to focus entirely on your care without insurance companies dictating your treatment. I can provide a superbill if your insurance offers out-of-network benefits.
How often should I come?
I typically recommend weekly sessions to start, then we can move to biweekly as you build momentum. But we’ll figure out what works for your life and budget.
What’s the difference between this and your content / app?
My content and app offer tools and education for everyone. Therapy is personalized — it’s you and me working together on your specific story, patterns, and goals in a confidential space.
Do I have to live in Florida?
Yes — I’m currently licensed in the state of Florida, so you need to physically be located in Florida during our sessions.
