Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Psych Life, Inc. built MindfulPractice. This policy explains what the app collects, where it goes, and how to get rid of it. Plain language, no tricks.

1. What we collect

Your email address, so you can have an account and sign in.

What you enter in the exercises. That includes how you are feeling, the worries you write out, thought dumps, the evidence you list, values you choose, and your before-and-after check-ins.

Basic technical information needed to run and fix the app, such as crash reports.

We do not collect your name, your location, your contacts, or your health records. We do not ask for them and the app has no field for them.

2. Where it is stored

In Google Firebase, on servers in the United States. Your entries are tied to your account and are visible to you when you sign in.

3. The AI service, and why we are telling you plainly

Some exercises respond to your own words. To do that, the text you write in those exercises is sent to Anthropic, an outside AI company, which generates a response and sends it back. Your email address and account identity are not sent with it. We are calling this out separately because agreeing to “we store your data” is not the same as agreeing that your words leave the app.

4. Who reads your entries

No one. Not Juan, not staff, not a counselor. Nothing you write reaches a person, and nothing you write is monitored. If you need a person, the crisis lines in the app are there for exactly that.

5. What we never do

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. There are no advertising or marketing trackers anywhere in this app.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your entries until you delete them or delete your account.

7. Deleting your data

You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, under Settings. Deletion is permanent and we cannot recover it afterward. You can also email contact@psychlife.org and ask us to do it.

8. Children

MindfulPractice is for adults, 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

9. Where this applies

MindfulPractice is offered in the United States. The crisis resources in the app are United States services.

10. Security

Access to your entries requires your password. We use the security controls Firebase provides, and access is restricted so that a signed-in user can reach only their own data. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.

11. A note about health information

MindfulPractice is a wellness app, not a health care service, and using it does not create a patient relationship. Because of that, this app is not covered by HIPAA. That is not a loophole; it is why we hold your entries narrowly, keep people out of them, and let you delete everything at once.

12. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
